DIY Christmas Horse Decoration!

As the holiday season is fast approaching it is time to think about decorating your home and preparing gifts for those special people in your lives.

This is a perfect gift for every horse lover!

Children often love doing crafts, especially Christmas crafts. If you have a little boy or girl that LOVES horses this horse decoration would be perfect for them to make. If horses are not their thing then you can totally change the stencil to something completely different. An old fashioned red truck or a different animal would look super cute on these Christmas Tree decorations.

Last year my niece and I made these horse ornaments. I have always loved horses but she definitely is a horse fanatic! Her knowledge of horses far exceeds mine and she is only 8 years old. She teaches me things about horses that I have never even heard of. When you take the time to talk to children and really listen, it is amazing what they have to teach us!

Supplies You Will Need

  • Tags from the Dollar Store

  • White chalk paint

  • Black chalk paint

  • Mod Podge

  • 3 foam brushes (1 for white paint, 1 for black paint and 1 for Mod Podge)

  • Glue gun or glue to secure greenery and berries

  • Twine or string

  • Ribbon

  • Greenery - The Dollar Store has some that is perfect. The garland is about the length of a pencil. You can use it to make their tiny Christmas trees appear fuller or for different crafts. It works great for these decorations.

  • Berries for an added touch! I save berries from flower arrangements. They work perfectly! You can find something at the Dollar Store if you do not have some at home.

  • A stencil of a horse or whatever you decide. You can print these from the internet for free or purchase stencils from the Dollar Store or craft store

I hope you have fun using your imagination to create a Christmas Tree Decoration for your own Christmas Tree or to give a gift to someone special. Teaching children to be thoughtful and kind to others is definitely not only important during the holiday season but all year round.
